Philly's and Fights (aka, hockey)

While most other girls were standing in line to see the new Twilight movie, we went to our very first hockey game ever.  Before the game we stopped by a philly cheese steak place for dinner.   Oddly enough, there was no dine-in area inside of this little building.  We decided to do what most other people would do in this situation.  We snuck into a Wendy's across the street where we enjoyed our little steak and cheese whiz sandwiches.

At the game, we lucked out with getting FRONT ROW SEATS!  That just added to the excitement of the whole night, to be so close to all the action.

One of the highlights of the night was when a member of the BBB said, "Why is it ok, and almost even sexy for a hockey player to be missing some teeth?"  Be it sexy or not, no hockey game is complete without a fight like the one we took a picture of above.

The Grizzlies are supposed to be at the top of their league.  But, apparently this just wasn't their game; they lost the game, 0-5.  Even with the big loss, it was a great night!

Porter's Place and Laser Tag

If you ever want to feel like you're stuck in Frontierland for a few hours, Porters Place is your ticket for fine western dining located right here in Utah.  Nothing like chewing food to the tune of, "Oh Susanna" over and over again as it is played on the ol' ragtime piano ;)

Porters Place is almost as iconic to Lehi as are the famous Roller Mills where Kevin Bacon filmed Footloose.  Life isn't complete until you've had one of their fresh scones with honeybutter.  Yum!  And to bring this around full circle, the dough that they make the scones with comes right from the mills down the road.  Now if that doesn't scream hometown lovin in your food, I don't know what else does.  Between the old time atmosphere and the tummy warming food, this is a one of a kind experience.

All in all, Porters Place was a rip-roaring adventure.

After stuffing their faces with scones and burgers, Jessi and Kiki decided to burn off those calories playing some hardcore laser tag.

Good food, good friends, and a good old time.  What more could a girl ask for? Until next time, this is the Brown Boots Brigade signing off and encouraging you to have an adventure and to step out of the mundane.

The Blue Plate Dinner

This was a "just chill," low key night.  We ate at the retro Blue Plate Dinner and crashed at Kiki's place for a movie.

Halloween: It's Costume Time!

Check out our awesome, handcrafted costumes... Out of 1,000+ people at the Halloween dance, Jessi won "Most Original Costume." Way to go Jessi!  Can you guess what the rest of us dressed up as?
(the answers are at bottom of this post)

Costumes: Lisa is Tinkerbell, Jaimie is the unglamorous Cinderella, Jessi is the Hymn Book, and Kiki is Pippi Longstalking.

PARK CITY!!!

We packed our bags and headed to Park City for the weekend. We stayed in a lavish 5-star hotel (not!), toured downtown, ate Shepard's Pie at an Irish Pub, and shopped our little hearts out. Jessi's favorite purchase of the weekend: a gray peacoat from BR, and the other 3 girls were excited over their new Toms.

Jaimie was so excited about the fact that she beat Jessi at checkers twice in a row.  Man, Jaimie is sure skilled at that game! ;)
